I'm so excited I can hardly think about anything else!
WoW Insider has the official announcement about Patch 3.1 going live today! I'll be reading through all the coverage to make sure there was nothing I missed.
I have to admit when I first heard about the Argent Tournament, I thought it was a new PvP enabled zone, similar to the PvP dailies they already put in the game where you have to be flagged to participate. Since I'm not really into PvP, I just glossed over all that information.
Now I'm finding they are actually PvE dailies. Some of the quests sound pretty interesting, as interesting as dailies can be anyway.
One of them has you gathering wood from trees that you actually have to chop down, with a falling down animation. I remember seeing this for the first time when I chopped down a tree in Vanguard to harvest lumber for tradeskills. It adds a nice level of realism to have the tree actually fall.
Another quest has you blowing up stone into small pieces you can collect. The stone actually does explode, and I love how the explosion causes real fire damage that can actually kill you. No wimpy balls of fire or simple animations here.
Some of them are the typical go kill 10 scourge, which I imagine will be a pain to find any mobs alive once all the players flock there when the servers come back up. However of the dailies already documented on WoW Insider they all seem very simple and shouldn't be too time consuming especially if you can do them in non-peak hours.
You can get titles as well for championing a city, I'll probably be championing Darnassus for my night elf heritage. If I feel the rewards are worth it, this could take up quite a bit of my time.
Combine that with the two holidays that are coming up and I think I won't be playing my shaman alt for a very long time.
For the last couple months we've all been starved, and now content is about to be shoved down our throats in mass quantities. I'm pretty happy to have something to write about as well.
Now let's all say a prayer for a smooth release today.

I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but I'm making plans for the evening under the assumption that the servers WILL be down. Ah well, the new stuff will still be there tomorrow, presuming the servers have recovered by then.
