Finally, finally, my coveted mace drops in Naxx and I can actually walk away with it. I've seen it drop three times previously, but I never had enough dkp to outbid anyone.I feel like I've paid my dues for it. I've been raiding constantly since January and I have a great attendance record.
So why do I feel a tinge of guilt for taking it?
I don't know what it is with me but I hate getting into a bidding war against other people for loot. Especially when people start talking about how "it's best in slot" for them, as if that means they are somehow more entitled to it. The Torch is pretty much best in slot for a lot of casting classes, you just can't beat the spellpower on it.
I wish there were an easier way to do loot distribution without this kind of stress, but I really don't know what it would be.
I consider DKP to be a tangible representation of how much you've put into your guild. If you have enough to win an item, that means you've done enough for the guild to earn it. Don't feel guilty about it. If you're going to use it, then go for it.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel guilty! I've been waiting for a while for it as well (The previous healing lead took it and then said she cba playing anymore). Gratz I'd say! :)
ReplyDeleteOh there is nothing worse than passing on an item for someone else in the guild who then decides they are going to quit raiding, or change mains.
ReplyDeleteWho knows when it would have dropped again, or if as a guild we will even be raiding Naxx much after the patch.
For now I'll just try to enjoy staring at it in all it's pixelated glory :)
